Besa

The Backstory

2010 marked a new beginning in my life. It was the year that I forged a new path centered on what I love: community. This included launching a pet care business as well a non-profit start-up called Besa.

Besa in an online platform that connects people to social causes. With Besa, you have access to localized and relevant content on hunger, homelessness, veteran affairs, student achievement gaps, animal welfare and countless other epidemics impacting the Columbus community. A dynamic database of 1,600 Columbus-based charities enables you to make more informed choices as you seek to contribute to the betterment of our community.

I'm excited to announce that Besa is launching June 2012!

Learn more about Besa and stay up-to-date on our progress by connecting with us on Facebook.

Please consider supporting us!

Besa is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. We are $2,000 away from a fundraising goal of $20,000, which will be used to fund our initial launch. I hope you'll consider contributing to the development and success of Besa during this final stretch. If you are unable to make a donation, please consider re-posting this message on your Facebook wall and reaching out to those in our community that would be interested in this project.

Thank you for considering Besa as a means of engaging in the social causes that impact our community.

Kind Regards,

Origin of Besa

Besa is born out of the belief that we can work together to overcome our differences and solve the problems that plague our community. The origin of the term, besa, resides in Albanian culture. It is based on the principle that communities should protect the less fortunate from harm.
